FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DOES HEALTH INSURANCE OR MEDICARE COVER THIS?
Most insurance companies do not cover obesity medication. They look at weight loss as an elective procedure, like putting braces . But we’ll give you a specially coded receipt you can submit if you’d like
HOW MUCH DOES THE MEDICATION COST?
It’s not so much what it COSTS but what it’s WORTH to you to literally change your life and become a new person. It’s very affordable when you factor in the savings at the grocery store, eating out at restaurants, and lower medical costs from being so much healthier… plus we have a special referral program where any new patients you send us can greatly lower your own cost for your medicine. But I will say this We have patients from all walks of life, all different incomes, the cost is reasonable and affordable and we take all the credit cards.
HOW LONG DO I STAY ON IT?
Everybody’s different. Some patients hit their goal and change their lifestyle and maintain their new set-point with proper diet and exercise. But like any weight loss program, no matter what it is, for some patients, if they get off it and go back to their old eating habits, the pounds can come back.
HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT FROM THE COMPETITION OR OTHER WEIGHT LOSS CLINICS?
Everybody we treat has tried other things that just don’t work. THIS MEDICINE WORKS! We really have NO competition.
WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE THERE?
They vary from patient to patient. A lot of people get NO side effects. Those that do are mostly GI (gastrointestinal) related, including mild nausea, which we counter by adding Zofran, a safe anti-nausea drug used by chemotherapy patients. It really nips it in the bud. Some people get a little stomach cramping, constipation, headaches, diarrhea, abdominal pain and indigestion, which all goes away, but ninety-five percent of our patients can easily tolerate these things in the beginning and once they get going and the weight melts off they feel sensational!
